Jeff Koons Sculptures at Metropolitan Museum of Art
Sculptures by renowned American artist Jeff Koons will be exhibited at the Metropolitans Museum of the Art’s 2008 installation on the roof garden from April 22-October 26, 2008 www.metmuseum.org . The installation features three large-scale and brilliantly colored works: Sacred Heart, Balloon Dog and Coloring Book… all made of high chromium stainless steel with transparent color coating. These sculptures have never been on public display and are a must-see, especially with the spectacular views of Central Park and the New York City skyline in the background.

Fall 2008 Fashion Preview
New York Fashion Week was terrific! The runways were filled with beautiful clothes including romantic dresses and gowns, sexy coats and furs, slim suits, and stylish accessories. Floral prints and whimsical details, sexy old-school glam and strapless evening dresses pointed to an eclectic mix of fashion trends for fall.
Beauty trends focused on a strong lips or eyes and beautiful skin was the must-have canvas… Hair was sleek and sophisticated. Little cocktail hats, strong fedoras and exotic skin clutches completed the styling for many collections.
We videotaped over 20 shows for our SCREENFASHION Fall/Winter 2008 DVD Runway Series which will be available to order in June 2008. I thought you’d like to see a preview of the shows, so I posted pictures of some of our favorite collections. *Note: All pictures below are courtesy Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

Roberto Verino: 25 Years of Fashion
The Gabarron Foundation presented the Spanish fashion exhibition: Roberto Verino- 25 Years of Fashion. The retrospective exhibition was established in September 2007, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the brand’s creation by featuring the designer’s signature pieces from each season throughout Verino’s fashion career. “25 Years of Fashion” opened in Madrid´s Costume Museum, MUSEO DEL TRAJE, continued to travel around Spain and will now be presented in New York at The Gabarron Foundation Carriage House Center for the Arts. A special cocktail reception honoring Roberto Verino was hosted by The Ambassador of Spain, Carlos Westendorp and Theodore W. Kheel, Chairman of the Gabarron Foundation.
Roberto Verino, one of the most celebrated names in Spanish fashion, launched his namesake ready to wear collection in 1982. The following year he opened his first boutique in Paris, in the heart of Saint Germain, along with an international showroom. Verino has shown during both Paris and Milan Fashion Weeks and his collections are sold throughout Europe & Scandinavia. In 1992 Veriono opened a boutique in Madrid and today has over one hundred retail outlets worldwide.
Verino has earned various prestigious awards including the FAD Interior Design Award in 1991, and the “Prix d’excellence 2002” from LA CASA MARIE CLAIRE magazine. The brand Roberto Verino was the first Spanish company to receive the Aenor certification UNE-EN-ISO 9001 for quality, design, production and customer service.
“25 Years of Fashion” will be on display March 3rd through March 10th, 2008 at The Gabarron Foundation Carriage House Center for the Arts, 149 East 38th Street, New York, NY 10016.

Bergdorf Goodman Windows Celebrate Poiret
I stopped by the Bergdorf Goodman store www.bergdorfgoodman.com to see the windows that celebrate the “Poiret: King Of Fashion” exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The windows were fabulous, as usual, with Poiret-Inspired dresses and ensembles by designers such as Oscar De La Renta and Reem Acra. ALL PHOTOS (C) JANET PYTOWSKI/VIDCAT

Poiret: King of Fashion
Paul Poiret, who at the height of his career in pre-WW1 France was the undisputed “King of Fashion” and whose sweeping vision led to a new silhouette that liberated women from the corset and introduced shocking colors and exotic references of the Ballet Russes to the haute couture, will be celebrated with a landmark exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art www.metmuseum.org from May 9- August 5, 2007. The breathtaking exhibit exemplified the modernistic approach Poiret took with fashion and all aspects of lifestyle including fragrance and home decor. This is a must-see event for all fashion and style hungry people who are lucky enough to find themselves in New York during the run of the exhibit.
