Moncler Grenoble Fall Winter 2017 Collection

The underlying concept and goal behind a Moncler Grenoble collection is to cover all aspects of living amidst the nature of a mountain resort during the Winter weather season. It is a creative approach to aesthetics which fuses its sources of inspiration with linearity, taking influence from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Ski suiting, men’s and women’s clothing, are laminated with a film projection on interior linings, and heat-sealed to ensure the upmost waterproofing performance. Nylon use has undergone a chintz treatment, donning Moncler’s traditional colors with focus on fire-red and sky-blue combinations. Nylon is thicker than in previous seasons with irregular surfacing. Trousers sport a slight flare influenced greatly by the 70s, while jackets are inspired by an environment...

Hong Kong Nightlife Inspired Collection From Vivienne Tam For Fall 2017

The Vivienne Tam Fall/Winter 2017 collection was inspired by the electrifying energy of Hong Kong nightlife, ablaze with neon lights, enveloping this urban jungle in a haze of exciting velocity. The visual culture of the city that never sleeps is conveyed in bursts of bright color and metallics -- neon fuschias, greens, purples and midnight blues derived from omnipresent neon signs and grids that light the skyscrapers.  Iconic signage, traffic lights and contrasting dark tunnels are translated into neon prints, alluding to modern city life. Strong metallic knits and pleathers are toned down with contrasting textures comprised of muted menswear aspects such as wool tweeds, plaids and stripes.   Dresses are easy and modern, expressed in a plaid qipao or a...

Retro 40s Silver-Screen Inspiration For The CHOCHENG Fall/Winter 2017 Collection

Designer Cho Cho Cheng presented his CHOCHENG Autumn/Winter 2017 collection   on February 13, 2017.  A theatrical backdrop was the perfect foil for the collection, which was inspired by the silver-screen glamour and melodrama of film noir.  The models were integrated into a set that was straight out a detective/crime thriller of the 1940's, with each of the 3 vignettes depicting a different section of a police precinct.  The collection is reminiscent of a glamorous and mysterious film noir of the 1940's with fitted jackets, coats and dresses with narrow waists and padded shoulders.

Missoni Men Winter 2017 Collection

Composed Dynamism. Order materializes from disorder. Sculptural contours delineate geometric figures. Intersecting lines contrast the material with the immaterial. Tonal glows and slumbering darkness surrender to the spirituous play of light. Missoni’s A/W 2017 Menswear Collection draws inspiration from the concrete barriers, metallic enclosures, oxidized mazes and jutting appendages of the subterranean and industrial networks that form the skeletal structures on which our indifferent urban surrounds are erected. This is the backdrop upon which this season’s Missoni Man comes to life. Japan is the setting.   Cashmere, mohair camel, yak, alpaca, and silk blend together to form an organic patchwork of sensory perceptions and experiences that have been disassembled and reassembled. Discreetly striking colors distinguish themselves from the somberness of...
